Fixes #2710

  • In colored output, -sc printed [] for a 500 response and dropped the last entry of a chain that ended in 500 ([302,]). The last case of the setColor switch was resp.StatusCode > http.StatusInternalServerError. It used > instead of >=, and it checked the final response's status instead of the statusCode being printed. Nothing handled codes below 200.
  • Changed the case to statusCode >= http.StatusInternalServerError and added a default that prints the code uncolored.
  • Added TestStatusCodeIsPrintedInColor in runner/statuscode_test.go. It checks [500] and a 302 -> 500 chain ([302,500]) against an httptest server, and fails on dev (f878c7a) with []. 1xx codes go through the new default case; the test doesn't cover them because httptest can't easily send a final 1xx response.

Tested with:

  • go test -race ./runner/ ./common/...
  • go vet ./runner/ ./common/...
  • golangci-lint run ./runner/...

Walkthrough

The status-code color switch now applies bold yellow styling to status codes from 500 upward. A test checks status-code output for direct HTTP 500 responses and redirect chains ending in HTTP 500.

The color switch now includes status 500 and prints other status codes without color. The test checks [500] and [302,500] after removing ANSI escape codes.

Full details: Title check

Explanation

The title names the runner package, the -sc colored output, and the 500 and 1xx status codes. The raw summary describes a change that moves 500 into the bold yellow class, and the objectives describe fixing colored -sc output for 500 and 1xx codes. The title covers the main change, but the diff summary does not mention 1xx codes, so that part of the title is not clearly backed by the summary. This is a partial match, which still passes under the criteria.

Full details: Linked Issues check

Explanation

Issue #2710 requires colored -sc output to print 500 and each status in a redirect chain, and to print otherwise-unhandled 1xx codes. runner/runner.go now classifies statusCode >= http.StatusInternalServerError and uses statusCode, not the final response status. Its default writes uncolored codes, including codes below 200. runner/statuscode_test.go verifies [500] and [302,500] after removing ANSI escape codes.

Full details: Out of Scope Changes check

Explanation

The changes stay within issue #2710. The production change fixes status-code classification and output. The added test verifies the reported 500 and redirect-chain failures. No unrelated behavior or files are changed.

Full details: Docstring Coverage

Explanation

Docstring coverage is 100.00% which is sufficient. The required threshold is 80.00%. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff with cyclomatic complexity of at least 2. Documentation-only edits and deletions within surviving functions are included; unchanged diff context and fully deleted functions are excluded. Analyzed 1 functions across 2 files.

Assert the status-code styling before removing ANSI escapes.

This test passes if [500] and [302,500] are printed without color. Check the expected ANSI styling in result.str, then keep the stripped-text assertions for the status-code sequence. This will detect a regression in the colored output that the test is intended to protect. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Review comment at @runner/statuscode_test.go at line 62:
Update the status-code test around result.str to assert the expected ANSI color
styling before calling ansiEscape.ReplaceAllString; retain the stripped-text
assertions for the status-code sequence so the test verifies both colored output
and displayed values.
